Llanelli Town AFC
Hello and welcome to the Llanelli Town AFC team guide, where I will be showing you the best way to manage Llanelli Town and help you rise up to becoming the new Welsh giants.
Llanelli Town were originally formed in 1896. Between 2005 and 2010, they enjoyed a 5 year spell finishing 1st and 2nd place in the JD Welsh Premier League. This included some spells in the Europa League alongside. However, in 2013 they were reformed as Llanelli Town AFC and were sent down to the Welsh football league division three. Since then, they have risen up the leagues to which we now find ourselves back in the JD Welsh Premier League for the first time in 5 years.
The Team
Predicted to finish bottom of the JD Welsh Premier League, we find ourselves with a big challenge ahead. Our team is most definitely not the greatest compared to the rest of the division but we do have some key players in this team who are vital for us this first season.
As you can see from the picture above, Emile Ngoy, Jordan Jones and Daniel Alfei are our star players in the team but we do have other players that should be highlighted. Reasat Khaton a is very good player for this league with lots of experience. He will be able to do a very decent job for you in the centre of midfield. James Loveridge, who has been a Football Manager legend for me is a very well balanced winger/striker who will be a consistent player for you.
The Transfers
This part of the post is the most important. The signings we make in this first season will be the difference. I have compiled a list together of signings we are able to make, but with unfortunately we don't have lot of room in our finances, but I suppose that adds to the challenge. I will leave it up to you to decide which players you want to sign but I will let you know which areas we need improving most.
All of these player are absolutely fantastic for this team and all of them can fit straight into the first team. In my opinion, you will need to work on the defence, defensive midfielder position and the left wing spot. From this list, Michael Howard and Alex Evans will be players that can strengthen your defence most. Jack Rea will be a key signing for you to make as he will be able to play in the midfield, defensively and attacking depending on when you need him, but with 14 passing at this level he won't disappoint. Finally, Brandon Griffiths will be able to play on the left wing for you and as a striker. He isn't at his best yet but at 20 years old he has a lot of time to improve.
Tactics
I'd suggest using a wing play style to begin with. Depending on who you sign, I believe that your style of play could change a fair amount as we don't have a lot of players being able to fill a lot of positions. Emile Ngoy is a very good Target Man, so the plan is to have our three midfielders running the midfield, laying it off to our striker or to our wingers to cross in to our goalscorer. This team must get some new players in before the start of the season as you can see from the picture, we will struggle in places if we don't sort out some quality.
Overview + Challenge
Judging from our history this club is destined to be at the top of the Welsh league. This save will be a difficult one but with the right moves we can get there, even if it takes a few seasons. Try and play some big clubs in preseason to help our financial balance and try to keep hold of the players we already have at the club. As a challenge, you need to bring Llanelli Town AFC back to their glory days of finishing first and taking TNS over as the Welsh giants and then winning the Champions League.
